Ooops....I did it again!

Alright....I'll admit defeat! I promise that the next time I announce any kind of a series I will have done all of the projects ahead of time because I simply can't keep up with it any other way!

Yesterday I realized at the last minute that I didn't buy any wrapping paper for my niece's birthday gift....and anyone who knows me knows I ALWAYS have a gift that matches either a theme or at the very least a color scheme. I didn't think about it until the afternoon of the party as well so there wasn't time to jump into the car and run and get some! Here's the small tag I created at the last minute and was pleased that it turned out so sweet.

Not too shabby for a ten minute project huh?

Have a good weekend!

Handmade Christmas....

Good morning everyone!

I wanted to pop on here and say that I didn't fall off the face of the earth....and that I appreciate the emails making sure that I'm okay and checking in on me. You guys are too sweet!

It's been a busy season with Thanksgiving, then a birthday and now Christmas so my blogging time has been cut way down. And while our shopping list is pretty small this year, it's just not the same without something handmade!

Jolly Holiday

Merry and Bright

Both of these sets start with a stationary gift box with misc. cards/envelopes, tags, stamps, a pen and a notebook for writing things down. It's a perfect gift for the someone who has everything! Then add in a little chocolate card and a anti-bacterial hand gel holder and you are all set to go! :o)

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season and that you are taking the time to experience it to the fullest. Be sure to come back Wednesday for a tour of my own Christmas home!

It is done.....

I'm so glad to report that the Christmas Bazaar is done! I simply don't know how vendors do multiple venues in one year....it's a lot of work and completely changes my perspective of what it takes to run a successful one!

Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of most of the items that were on our table but I did take this one last week when I completed it at home....

Tag Inside

Tag Outside

I followed the directions from Splitcoaststampers and found it to be fun to make...it's perfect for those occasions where you need a little extra something for someone but are on a tight budget!

Have a good day!

Vinyl......

Hi everyone!

I finally got around to putting up the Decor Elements from Stampin' Up! that I've had for almost a year now. While it's not recommended for textured walls (something you would think I would know since I'm a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!) I wasn't giving up until I had it on there. My persistence paid off and I smile every time I walk by it!

Isn't that the way your whole house should be? A place you love to be more than any other place? I'm not talking about perfection here.....I'm talking about comfort. And a safe place where you can look around and be reminded of who you really are. Look around....I promise you'll find it!

Have a good day!

Many Blessings,
M.

Stationary Box.....

I have an idea rolling around in my head to create something similar to this but in retro reds, blues and yellows. I made this one in 2008 and loved the way it turned out. I gave it away to a special friend who also appreciated the time that went into making it.....that's one of the best parts of having friends and family who share my passion for papercrafting!

So what do you think? Think a retro feel stationary box would be cute?

Have a fantastic week!

Many Blessings,
M.

Butterfly Note Pads.....

Good morning everyone!

For those of you who are not local or haven't been a reader of mine for very long, I hold several classes a month showcasing various projects that usually revolve around papercrafting. I love stamping and like to expand my customers options by highlighting projects that go beyond a stamp and stamp pad. Here is last night's class project....

The note pads can be thrown into your car, attached to your handbag or given away as gifts. The were fun and super easy to do. This is what they look like on the inside.....

And here are just a few from last night's class....

The possibilities are endless!

Many Blessings,
M.

Punch Art Bunny.....

Good morning!

Yesterday I spent the day with my mom making more Easter Baskets like these from Monday night but we took them a step further and added a little bunny made entirely out of punches! If you are a scrapbooker or rubber stamper and have hand held punches, your possibilities are endless....and they turned out super cute if I do say so myself!

Have a great day!

Many Blessings,
M.

Spring Time......

Am I the only one who can't believe it's almost Easter? My grandpa was right when he said that time goes by faster the older you get!

In an effort to stretch our family dollars and still indulge in my love for seasonal decorating, I've been looking for things that can be used for more than one holiday and/or occasion. Apothecary jars are hot this season and you can find them practically anywhere! I put pastel Easter candy in them for now but plan to use them over and over as the seasons change. How cute will they be with red, white and blue candy in them for the 4th of July or orange, white and yellow candy corn for Halloween?! Now that's using your decorating dollars wisely!

I plan to pull the rest of my stuff out before Monday but for now, I wish you a spectacular weekend!

Many Blessings,
Melissa

A Perfect Match......

Don't you love it when a gift you have in mind comes together beautifully? I didn't get a photo of the basket with the items in it, but I did capture how well the card matched the gift basket.

Congratulations Brandt and Chetney!

Many Blessings,
M.

A St. Patrick's Day Project....

It's class day so this will be a short and sweet post this morning!

Tonight we will be making these sweet bag toppers for St. Patrick's Day. I'm always looking for fun and inexpensive projects for my girls that can be replicated using just a few supplies. I think this little guy works really really well for that!

Have a fantastic day!

Many Blessings,
M.

It's the Little Things.....

Dining Room Table

After all the Christmas decorations are taken down, the house can seem a little bare so sometime in mid January I jump right into Valentine's Day! While I don't have a huge amount of stuff for this particular holiday, I do have a lot of red stuff around the house so I pull it all out and see what I can come up with using what I already have on hand. This is where a woman's touch is most apparent! After all, it's the little things that make a house feel like a home.

What have you done today to make your house a home?

Many Blessings,
M.

Babies, Bags and More....

Good morning!

Before I get carried away with my long to do list today, I thought I'd share a project I worked on last week.

I was not able to attend a baby shower for a friend who is expecting her first child on March 1st but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a little something to celebrate this special time!

Her colors for the nursery are chocolate brown, hot pink, light pink and a sage green. SO CUTE! I decided to use those colors when choosing my gift bag, tissue paper and card. Anyone who knows me knows that presentation is a big thing for me....yes, this is just one of many quirks you'll get to learn about me this time around! I discovered a long time ago that I can get carried away with bags, bows and wrapping paper so to make things a little simpler, I choose papers and bags that can be used for many different occasions. And since I refuse to pay $5.00 or more for a card I always make my own. In the future I'll show my gift wrapping solutions, but for now here is the card...

and here is the card attached to the bag.....

I don't believe you have to spend an arm and a leg to create something beautiful. The gift bag was $1.49, the hot pink tissue was .99 cents and I made the card with supplies I had on hand. For under $3.00 I was able to give something beautiful that came from the heart. How can you go wrong with that?

I'd love to hear your gift wrap solutions!

Many Blessings,
M.
