Completing Him Challenge....Assess Your Marriage!

Our summer Completing Him Challenge from Women Living Well is drawing to a close today and I for one am so glad I participated! The truth is that we can get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget to acknowledge the many blessings we are surrounded with every day. If you weren't able to join us, I would highly recommend going through your own 8 Week Challenge and really take the time to make your relationship a priority! Here's a recap of all the challenges:

1. Remember your dating days and what made you fall in love in the first place.

2. Remember your sacred vows.

3. Remember to ask your husband how you can pray for him daily.

4. Remember to tell your husband how you admire him.

5. Remember to keep your priorities in line.

6. Remember to follow your husband's lead and vision for your family.

As for how our marriage went this summer, I'm happy to report that it is strong. The summer challenge came just as we were entering our "God Watch" season with a job loss. God was faithful and provided well for us for the the 7 weeks we were without work and Chris got a new job last Monday! While finances can be a sticky spot for some couples, we have worked really hard to stay on the same page with similar goals and expectations and constantly communicate our needs and desires in this area.

An Update....

It's been about 4 1/2 weeks since we officially entered our "God Watch" period and I'm happy to report that we are still going strong. God continues to provide in ways we never see coming and He does it all without the help of unemployment. I'm constantly reminded of just how blessed we really are....

Changes......

Good morning everyone!

We've officially entered our job loss phase and having Chris home during the day has thrown my routines all off.....I apologize for the unexpected blog break!

I'm not quite sure how much to share here but think it's important to be honest....and since it's my blog, I guess I can do that! I promise that my posts won't be all doom and gloom as I believe that we will be well taken care of and God will be glorified through it. One of the blogs I follow has recently gone through something similar and she referred to it as their "God Watch" time. I love the thought of that and plan to call mine the same thing. As I've said many times before, our attitudes determine our perspective on a lot of things and this is one of those time when I must live out what I say I believe. I hope you'll join me as I update you on all the things that we learn and to see just how well God provides!

In other news, we decided to go ahead and purchase the dishwasher and fit it in. It's been in for a couple of weeks now and I LOVE it!! Here's what it looks like....


Chris also cut down the drawers that were in the spot we installed the dishwasher and fit them behind another existing door. While it's not a perfect arrangement, it's a whole lot better than having the drawers sit on the living room floor which is where they were for a week! :-)
