Book Review: Your Beautiful Purpose...
Good afternoon guys! I'm here today to share a review from a book I just finished. I hope you get a chance to take a look at my thoughts and as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email at anytime at princess1211(at)hotmail(dot)com!
Anyone who has been a follower of Jesus Christ for any length of time can probably relate to the thought of "What's my Purpose?". Susie Larson's Your Beautiful Purpose leads you slowly through the process of discovering what God has to say about Himself, you and how a real relationship is based on His unwavering truths. While there are no specific answers in this book, Susie asks the tough questions so you can discover the answers for yourself. I particularly liked the following statements:
"If we really want to know true beauty, if we really want to live full and free lives, we have to give God access to those places we work so hard to cover up."
"We need times of refining so we will know in the depths of our being that our hope is in the Living God who daily establishes His purposes for us."
"Trust more in God's supply than in your lack!"
"Never try to serve God by pleasing man!"
"Seek Him until you find Him."
I found Your Beautiful Purpose to be meaningful and straight forward from the beginning. If you are looking for a book that will challenge and encourage you, this is it!

Book Review: Touching the Sky...
And last but not least......
It's 1865 in Corpus Christi, Texas and Laura Marquardt and Brandon Reid are faced with the ugliness of the Civil War. Life as they've known it is completely different now that the war is over.
Laura's spoiled and immature younger sister has gotten herself into some trouble and Laura and Brandon are put into the dangerous position of trying to get her out of it. Slavery, lack of education, animosity between the North and the South, Tracie Peterson covers them all....
If you are interested in Historical Fiction, then this is the book for you!

Book Review: Traveler's Rest....
Jane Morrow has had a tough life.....a mother who committed suicide, a soldier fiancee permanently injured while away at war and a weak faith that seems to come and go with her emotions but God had a plan for her life.
Truman Rockaway had been living with a secret for many many years and no amount of healing during his tenure as a physician could take away his guilt from living with that secret.
Truman and Jane come together in a way that only God can orchestrate and both find the healing they have both been longing for. While the story didn't turn out the way I expected it to, I was pleasantly surprised at how real Ann Tatlock's characters became and I look forward to reading a lot more of her work!

Book Review: Chasing the Sun....
Tracie Peterson's Chasing the Sun was simply delightful! Set in the 1860's Hannah Dandridge finds herself responsible for her younger siblings when her father disappears. Ms. Dandridge knows that she's in for a tough time when the original owner of the ranch they live on returns unexpectedly. I was inspired by her giving yet firm nature and her spunk kept me chuckling throughout the book. The other characters were well rounded and believable as well.
I look forward to reading many more books from Tracie Peterson!
