Week Four - Adding Tender Moments.....

Have you ever gotten up on a Tuesday morning and wondered what happened to Saturday, Sunday and Monday? That's exactly what I did this morning! It was a total blur and I completely forgot to check Women Living Well for this week's challenge!

With my candle lit and soft music playing, I sat down this morning and thought about how different my experience may be from most of the participants of this challenge. Here are my thoughts.....

I have been married for almost 16 1/2 years and we are childless. While I would rather not be defined in those exact terms, it is the truth. But does this mean that there isn't an opportunity for me to create special moments in our home? Absolutely not! In fact, I believe that Chris and I share an intimacy that most couples don't get to experience until after their children are gone. I do many things daily to show my husband how important he is to me because the only guarantee we have in this life is that we will not be around forever. I choose to embrace that and do what I can right now....it's one of very few things that I don't procrastinate about!

On any given day you may find me making his lunch, hanging up every piece of clothing he owns because he prefers that over having things folded in a drawer, running our family errands like banking and grocery shopping so that he doesn't have to worry about it, watching him play his favorite video game, listening to him play his guitar(s) and/or simply putting down what ever project I may be working on to spend time with him. It's in these little things that he knows without question that I love him.

What have you done lately to show your love?

PS - My giveaway is still open to all who would like a chance to win!

A Couple of Friends....

Good morning blog friends!

I'm still trying to get over this little bug I've caught and thought I'd share a couple of my favorite places today....

Erin from Where Beauty Meets Function was my first guest blogger and will always hold a special place because of it! Our decorating styles are so similar I could move right into her house and would feel instantly at home. She's funny, creative and real. I love real people! And as an added bonus, she knocked my socks off when she revealed her super cute Halloween Living Room a few weeks ago....

Head over to Where Beauty Meets Function today...I promise you won't be disappointed!

My second favorite place is Keep'n The Sunny Side. Amy is kind and will instantly make you feel like you've known her forever. We both have a love for all things Amish and share a passion for homemaking. She's also a real person who is wildly talented and is generous enough to show you how she makes all kinds of super cute stuff! I mean c'mon! How can you resist something that looks like this?

Please! I can't! As with Erin, run on over to Amy's and check it out. You are bound to come away with more inspiration than you'll know what to do with!

PS - I've decided I can't wait any longer to do my giveaway so be sure to come back Friday to see what you have the chance to win!

I'm Back.....

Good Monday morning everyone!

I'm back from my week off from blogging and must report that I wish I had taken this week off instead! I seem to have caught some sort of bug so I'm not feeling very well....I apologize ahead of time if I say something silly through my brain fog!

My time off was productive....I made some more of these:

Was given an awesome award from Erin at Where Beauty Meets Function:

Thanks my friend! I promise to do a separate post on it some time this week!

I participated in Courtney's second week challenge of playing soft music in my home everyday while having my candle burning.

And even whipped up a recipe card for a very special friend.....

Now I'm just praying for a little healing so that I can jump feet first into this week's challenge over at Women Living Well. Want to join me?

Have a good week!

A Little Break.....

Source unknown

Hi everyone!

I'm just popping on here real quick to say that I'm taking the week off from blogging. I have so many things on my plate right now and need to step away from the computer to get it all done! Tune in next week for my Halloween decor, current stamping projects and maybe even a little fall baking!

Caramel Apples and Pumpkins....

Good morning everyone!

October Stamp Club was last night and in the spirit of the changing season, we made Caramel Apple cards! This super cute idea was sent to me by a very special friend from Arkansas and I loved it the moment I laid my eyes on it!

All packaged up

Card outside the bag

It's the perfect gift for someone who doesn't need/want a lot of candy at one time or would be really cute as a place card at an Autumn dinner. All you'd have to do is tie a little tag with someone's name on it and you would be good to go! *Please ignore the spice bottle holding it up!*

And as an added bonus, I whipped up this sweet little pumpkin box as a giveaway at the class. I've found similar boxes around on the internet but this was my first time making it. I must say, I love it too! And since I gave away the last one, I'm going to make a second one for myself to keep and one to give away here! Once I reach that 50 follower mark of course.....

Thank you to all of my new readers who have taken the time to stop by and sign up as a follower. Your time is important and I appreciate you sharing a little bit of it with me!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Making Your Home a Haven Challenge One....

It's time for the new Making Your Home a Haven Fall Challenge! I am thrilled to be following Courtney and several other women who want to make their homes a priority and I hope that you will consider joining us too.

Challenge Number One: Light a candle and begin praying over your home every time the glimmer of the candle catches your eye.

This is an easy one for me because I almost always have a candle going in our home. It brings a peace in my heart and calms my spirit. And isn't that what we are going for overall? As women we wear many different hats and it's easy to get caught up in the chaos of everyday life. I'd like to encourage you to slow down today, turn on some soft music and light a candle!
