It's a busy day around here, but I wanted to quickly post the card I made for Chris for Valentine's Day this year. I'm sure I've said it before but just in case you missed it, I LOVE VALENTINE'S DAY!

Good morning everyone!

A few weeks ago I went to a class given by a special friend and we made a bunch of love themed projects....a scrapbook page, a treat box, two cards and a sweet little "mailbox"!

It took me some time to figure out which picture to put on my page and I finally decided on the one you see below....

Chris and I met when we were paired up to walk down the isle together in a wedding. It seemed fitting to use that particular picture on the scrapbook page and to post it on Valentine's Day! :)

Thanks again to Shana for hosting such an awesome class....I'm looking forward to many, many more!

Sweet Treat Cups Take Two.....

Oops! I was away a little bit longer than I expected....I think that's a sure sign that I have a little too much going on around here don't you?

Today's card is one I made with my niece and mom a few weeks ago. It uses the Sweet Treat Cups from Stampin' Up! and has a little trap door to release the candy just like the first set we made. Honestly, the possibilities are endless when it comes to the treat cups!

Sweet Treat Cups Take One.....

I spent a little time yesterday working on some Valentine's cards with my mom and here's what we came up with.....


I got the layout idea from a video on Youtube and now I can't find the video....I hate it when that happens! Anyway, we inserted a little trap door in the back so the candy can come out without the card being destroyed.

Sigh.....I love Valentine's Day!

Valentine Animal Cracker Box....

Today's project is one I've done before and love! Every one I make is a little different and that's part of their beauty! It's a good sized box and the instructions can be found here. Please let me know if you try one because I'd love to see it!

iLove.....

This year's Valentine for my sweetie is a little different than years past. I originally came across the idea in the Family Fun magazine that my neighbor brings to me every month but have since seen it pop up out in blog-land. If you are interested in making one for yourself, the template can be downloaded here. The hardest part is choosing the songs you want to "play" on your iLove. Please don't hold it against me that Jessie's Girl is on there....it's a long standing joke between Chris and I. :o)

And since we are chocolate lovers in this house, I went ahead and used a Kit Kat instead of the Sweetheart candy!

Pull Up Treat Pouch and a Little Valentine Tea....

Good afternoon!

I'm still hard at work at making things for Valentine's Day.....


Today's projects are a Pull Up Treat Holder and a folded pocket holding some Valentine tea. Instructions for both of the projects can be found on SCS in the resources section of the website.

Cutie Box.....

I'm back this afternoon with another Valentine project....and as I said last week, I have so many ideas that I can't narrow it down to just a few so I'm going to show them all here between now and Valentine's Day!

Isn't the little girl a cutie?! I love the innocence about her! And the small handmade paper roses just make it all that sweeter!

Right now the box is empty but I'm thinking about making some little 3x3 cards to match unless I can come up with something else that would work in it. What do you think?



Edited to add: I will work on a photo tutorial for the little paper roses!

Valentine Class....

In true Melissa form, I'm behind on my prep work for tonight's Cupcake Card Class so this will be a super fast post!

I'm offering another class in the next couple of weeks for Valentine's Day and here are the projects...

I want to give a big shout out to my fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators for giving me the inspiration for all of the above projects. While the ideas are not new, they sure are cute! And the best part about the card is that you could easily turn it into a birthday card in no time!

Top Note Box.....

Good afternoon! It's taken me a little longer to decide on what to make for Valentine's Day because I have SO many ideas! I finally just decided to make them all and will be featuring them from now until Valentine's Day....

Today's project is a sweet little box big enough to hold chocolates, lip sticks, erasers, etc....little trinket size things and was a lot of fun to make. Here is the outside of the box:

Slowly Easing Into the Week....

I don't know about you, but I'm having a hard time getting going this morning!

I thought I'd ease into the week by sharing a project I made last month for Valentine's Day gifts. Each one was created using the same pattern, but by changing the designer papers the final product looked completely different!

So Very Blessed.....

Good morning everyone!

As I reflect on our special day yesterday, I can't help but feel blessed. It's not because of the sweet and thoughtful gifts my husband gave me (although I appreciate them greatly), but more so because of the people in my life. We spent the afternoon with special friends, ate awesome PW food and ended the evening with Fireproof.

Isn't that what love is really all about? No matter your situation.....married, single, divorced, widowed......open your hearts and celebrate the relationships you have!

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Cor. 13:13

I love this time of year.....maybe it's because I'm a pink lover, or maybe it's because I think celebrating the love you have for the people in your life is a great reminder of blessings bestowed upon each of us. It's the Little Things.....

Dining Room Table

After all the Christmas decorations are taken down, the house can seem a little bare so sometime in mid January I jump right into Valentine's Day! While I don't have a huge amount of stuff for this particular holiday, I do have a lot of red stuff around the house so I pull it all out and see what I can come up with using what I already have on hand. This is where a woman's touch is most apparent! After all, it's the little things that make a house feel like a home.
