A Drawerless Kitchen?

Many of you know that this is what my kitchen currently looks like.....

It's simply not in the budget to completely gut and update it in the way that I would like but trust me when I say, I'm collecting ideas for what I want when it IS in the budget!

Here's a close up of the drawers...

The other night, Chris and I were talking about adding a dishwasher. Right now, I am the the dishwasher and while there are only two of us living here, it only takes a spoon, coffee mug and a bowl to make it look cluttered in our little kitchen! I was surprised to discover that it would only be somewhere between $275-$325 to add one. The only problem is that it would have to go where the three drawers are just to the right of the sink. That would leave us without any drawers at all. Is this a problem? How would we store linens and silverware? Do any of you have drawer less kitchens?

I was thinking that something like this might work for our silverware tray inside a cabinet.....

Or maybe something like this.....

I'd love to hear your ideas and any pros and cons you might think of that I haven't thought of yet!

I'm taking the Memorial Day Weekend off from blogging and will be back on Tuesday. Enjoy some time with your friends and family and don't forget to spend a moment to acknowledge those who have fought for our freedom!

Many Blessings,
M.

Vinyl......

Hi everyone!

I finally got around to putting up the Decor Elements from Stampin' Up! that I've had for almost a year now. While it's not recommended for textured walls (something you would think I would know since I'm a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!) I wasn't giving up until I had it on there. My persistence paid off and I smile every time I walk by it!

Isn't that the way your whole house should be? A place you love to be more than any other place? I'm not talking about perfection here.....I'm talking about comfort. And a safe place where you can look around and be reminded of who you really are. Look around....I promise you'll find it!

Have a good day!

Many Blessings,
M.

Bella Rose Tote-ally Awesome Tote and Brag Book.....

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm having a hard time getting going this morning. I didn't hear the alarm go off so we got a bit of a jolt when we realized what time it was. Sorry about that babe! So instead of trying to come up with something witty and charming to say, I think I'll just leave you with a couple of projects I've done over the last few days...

Gorgeous Blogger Award....

I was graciously given the Gorgeous Blogger Award from Amy at Keep'n The Sunny Side a few days ago and think it's the perfect way to end the week!

This is what I'm supposed to do:
1. Accept and thank the person who sent it to you.
2. List 10 things about yourself.
3. List 5 additional things you don't like.
4. Pass the award on to 10 other bloggers.

Ten things about me:

1. I was 18 when I got married and we are celebrating our 16th Wedding Anniversary in just a few weeks.
2. I hate talking on the phone and will go to great lengths to avoid it with two exceptions....my husband and my mom!
3. My favorite color is pink but I don't wear pink clothes. I have one t-shirt that I'll wear occasionally but all other shades tend to make me look a lot paler than usual. I will however wear pink pajamas.
4. I don't believe you have to be a mother to be a homemaker. I've often felt excluded from other homemaking blogs because we don't have children. That's the reason I started this blog although I've never actually said that here!
5. One of my closest friends is one I've never met in person. And you know who you are right?! :-)
6. I want a Pug really, really bad and plan to call her Penelope!
7. We are facing a job loss in 2-4 weeks and I'm 100% positive that God will be glorified through it. I'm not worried at all. Am I crazy?
8. I hate the color blue.
9. I have not planted any flowers around the house yet, but when I do, I only want red, white and pink ones.
10. My birthday is the 4th of July.

5 Things I don't like:

1. People who do not keep their word.
2. Mushrooms and tomatoes.
3. Nosy neighbors.
4. A messy refrigerator.
5. Poorly wrapped gifts.

Gosh, I seem to be a little neurotic in some cases don't I?

I'm going to pass on giving this award away to other bloggers because I don't want them to feel obligated to do it if they don't want to. Thank you Amy for the sweet award!

Many Blessings,
M.

Prayers.....

Image from Susan Rios

I found this list somewhere on the internet and have wanted to share it with you for some time now. These are specific to my husband but they could certainly be adjusted for other loved ones in your own family or circle of friends.....

Prayers for Chris

*Protect him physically and mentally as he goes into the world each day.
*Make him a man of integrity.
*Infuse him with wisdom.
*Shower him with success.
*Put a generous spirit within him.
*Fill him with joy.
*Surround him with godly men.
*Shape him into the strong, godly leader of your home.
*Give him eyes that look to God, as a servant looks to his master.
*Fill him with an ever-deepening love for you!

I believe in the power of prayer. Do you?

Have a good day!

Many Blessings,
M.

Better Late than Never....

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of you! It turned out to be a whirlwind weekend for us so I waited until this morning to post again.

My mother in law loved her card and so did my mom. How can you not when the roses are so beautiful? Here's my mom's:

And in celebration of both our mother's....

Mother in Law Card......

Boy, everything's coming up roses around here lately isn't it?! I've been hard at work on making projects and today is class day so this is a short and sweet post.

Today's project is my MIL's Mother's Day card and is a new technique for me. It was so easy and breathtaking if you ask me....that's why we are doing it at my class tonight!

Thanks for stopping by!

Many Blessings,
M.

Stationary Box.....

I have an idea rolling around in my head to create something similar to this but in retro reds, blues and yellows. I made this one in 2008 and loved the way it turned out. I gave it away to a special friend who also appreciated the time that went into making it.....that's one of the best parts of having friends and family who share my passion for papercrafting!

So what do you think? Think a retro feel stationary box would be cute?

Have a fantastic week!

Many Blessings,
M.
